Christmas Play

One of our students had a wonderful opportunity to be in Eastfield College's play, "Miracle on 34th Street."  Mrs. Walker interviewed Miguel and learned more about the play.

I was in "Miracle on 34th Street" at Eastfield College.

I tried out for newspaper boy, but I didn't get it.  I was a reindeer and in scene 6 where we sit on Santa's lap and tell him what we want.

To get ready for the play we had to read our scripts over and over and over.  You have to read your script.  You have to pay attention and come in at the right part.  I had to come to every single practice.  We practiced on stage.  Then the first or second times towards the opening night we couldn't bring our script up there because we had to memorize it.  We had to buy makeup.  Then it was opening night.  We had to put the makeup on and put our costumes on and that's it.

I liked most being in the reindeer pen.

Next year is going to be "Wizard of Oz".  I'm going to try out for it, too.

My sister, Sara, was Sally, in the zoo scene, and in the court scene.  She's in where we sit on Santa's lap, run to Santa, and in the parade.  She was in one more time than I was.

About the play....   Santa Claus asked the doctor what he wanted for Christmas, something that he really needed.  He said if you give me one I know you really are Santa Claus.  The next thing Santa Claus and the zookeeper meet.  They're talking about Santa Claus's sons.  Then everybody starts to look at the reindeer.
